Ever woken up unable to move, even though you feel Ever woken up unable to move, even though you feel completely awake? 😳

Sleep paralysis happens when the temporary muscle paralysis of REM sleep continues briefly as you’re waking up or falling asleep. Sometimes, dreamlike hallucinations come along with it, which can make the experience especially frightening.

What makes it more likely?
😴 Not getting enough sleep
⏰ Irregular sleep schedules
🛏️ Sleeping on your back

What can help?
Getting enough sleep, keeping a consistent sleep schedule, and trying to sleep on your side may help reduce episodes.

If it happens, remind yourself that it’s temporary and not dangerous, even if it feels terrifying.

Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? 👻

Nothing tests a relationship quite like watching y Nothing tests a relationship quite like watching your partner fall asleep in 12 seconds while you’re still waiting for your brain to get the memo. 😑😂

And then comes the comparison:
How are they already asleep?
Why am I still awake?
What is wrong with me?

That pressure can make you even more alert.

If you’re wide awake or getting frustrated, get out of bed for a bit and do something quiet. Go back when you feel sleepy again.

Meanwhile, try not to hold your partner’s suspiciously fast sleep against them. 😂

Tag the person who is already asleep before you’ve even gotten comfortable. 👇

Sometimes that’s really it. 😂 You slept terribly. Sometimes that’s really it. 😂

You slept terribly. You’re tired. And you keep going.

You don’t necessarily need to cancel your plans, sleep in, go to bed super early, or completely rearrange your day to “make up” for a bad night.

Sometimes you just have a tired day and let sleep take care of itself the next night. 💤

Save this for the morning after a rough night when your brain is telling you the entire day is ruined.

Have you ever suddenly realized you haven’t though Have you ever suddenly realized you haven’t thought about your pain for a while? 🧠

Maybe you were working, laughing with friends, exercising, or completely absorbed in something you enjoy.

Those moments matter.

Pain is influenced not only by what’s happening in the body, but also by what the brain is paying attention to. When your attention is captured by life instead of constantly monitoring symptoms, pain can sometimes become quieter. 💙

The goal isn’t to try not to think about pain. It’s to spend more time engaged in the people, activities, and experiences that matter to you.

When was the last time you realized you’d forgotten about your pain for a little while?
